Consolidates
and Presents All Important TCP/IP Network Activity |
| The heart of the z/IPMon
interface is the Dashboard where an overview of all TCP/IP
activity in your system is constantly refreshed. The z/IPMon Dashboard
gives you an overview of all activity in your network,
including full support for all hardware interfaces,
applications, protocols, connections and hosts. All of this data is
available in both table and chart form. Using the AJAX/Web
interface, you can click on any specific component to drill
down to more detailed information. |
|
Monitor
Dynamically Updated Live Data, or Look Back Using
Retrospect™ |
| AJAX
technology allows for updates to be retrieved on demand in
the background meaning z/IPMon is always working for you.
Using the innovative Retrospect feature, you can request
data from another date and time in the archive if you need
to look back to a particular period of time to review the
activity or to troubleshoot a past problem. |
|
Runs Directly
on your Mainframe—All TCP/IP Stacks are Supported Including
IPv6 |
| z/IPMon runs natively on
your mainframe system in any partition, static or
dynamic. No additional
software is needed or is installed on the PC. Full support
is included for all TCP/IP stacks, whether licensed from
IBM, Barnard Software, or Connectivity Systems, or even if
used in combination. Full support is available for IPv4 or
IPv6 or even a mixed environment. |
|
Supports
Standard Interfaces to Security Managers |
| z/IPMon supports the
RACROUTE standard interface so you can utilize any security
product including BIM-Alert and CA-Top Secret. If there is
no external security manager installed, z/IPMon provides a
basic security management facility. |
|
Delivers a 100% Web-Based Interface Using AJAX Technology |
z/IPMon Dashboard
z/IPMon's rich web-based interface is based entirely on industry-standard AJAX technology. AJAX provides a Windows-application like environment complete with drag-and-drop capabilities, context-sensitive menus and more—all from any standard Web Browser. z/IPMon takes full advantage of this exciting open standard, improving response time and usability, and allowing non-mainframe personnel to feel comfortable using the software. |

Dynamic Alerts
Mean You Know About Critical Events |
z/IPMon Alerts Screen
z/IPMon Alerts Screen
z/IPMon works hard to keep
you informed. The product features a robust Alert interface
allowing you to set criteria to be notified of specific
events in your TCP/IP system. Using AJAX, the Alert feature
works in the background, dynamically notifying you visually when a
threshold is reached. You can
optionally set up an email notification for an event as well to
keep you abreast of what's happening. |
|
Advisor™ Mode Tells
You What To Look Out For |
Advisor
Run z/IPMon in Advisor Mode to
analyze traffic on your TCP/IP system. Advisor will determine what is
normal behavior and automatically create Alert conditions to let you
know when your system is NOT behaving normally. |
|
Write reports using
z/IPUtil™ |
z/IPUtil
Using z/IPUtil, create a report with
any combination of captured data fields, in any order, complete with
subtotal and sorting abilities. Rather than create "canned" reports which
may be too limiting, z/IPMon gives you the ability to report on whatever
you need, with simple, easy to understand "select" type statements in
the JCL. |
|
Packet Trace
Facility for Deeper Diagnostic Needs |
z/IPMon Packet Trace
Need more detailed data of
your network traffic? Using z/IPMon’s integrated Packet
Trace facility, you can start, stop and view a packet trace
directly from the AJAX/Web interface. And the data is fully
formatted including breaking out all network headers, color
coded by protocol--even giving you the ability to translate
the data into ASCII or EBCDIC. You can also print the
trace either to a printer attached to your PC, or through
POWER on the VSE system. You can even export and open a trace
in Wireshark! |
|
Direct,
Integrated Command Interface for TCP/IP |
TCP/IP Command Interface
z/IPMon provides one place
for the full management of your TCP/IP environment. With the
integrated Command Interface, you can issue commands
directly to the TCP/IP partitions and receive the responses
directly in the AJAX/Web Interface. A scrollable console log
is kept for the duration of your session. |
|
Integrated Messages
Console and Message Notification Bar |
z/IPMon Console
z/IPMon Message Screen
z/IPMon includes a new Message Notification Bar at the
top of the screen, next to the Alert Notification Bar, so
you can tell at a glance on the z/IPMon Dashboard if there
are new messages that have been generated that may need your
attention. Instead of monitoring the mainframe console, you can
see all messages from either TCP/IP or z/IPMon for one place
to go to for managing your TCP/IP system. |
